Jewish Festival (Rosh Hashanah) 28th
The first major event to be run by the project was the celebration of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah). The event was facilitated by David Simon who talked about Judaism and Rosh Hashanah he also brought in many Jewish artefacts that were shown to people who attended the event. There was also a traditional 3 course Jewish meal served for all who attended. The Rosh Hashanah Festival was attended by people from Pakistani, Indian, American, Zimbabwean, Iraqi, Kurdish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Ugandan and South African communities. There were a total of 88 adults including the Mayor of Stockton Jenny Beaumont, Councillors, and 22 children from Mill Lane Primary School, Stockton on Tees and representatives from the thirty BME groups identified by Stockton International Family Centre in the Borough of Stockton on Tees.
