H.M. Prison Holme House
Stockton International Family Centre and the Education Department at HMP Holme House organised a Diversity Event .
This event was the first to take place at HM Prison Holme House.
Stockton International Family Centre was pleased to hear that we left a very good impression with the Governor and the Race Relations Officer that we were asked if we would sit on HMP Holme House Race Management Team. The first meeting was attended on 13th January 2005.
The Race Management Team consists of: Deputy Governor, Head of Operations, Equal Opportunities Officer, Head of canteen, Imam, Education, Probation, POA, Chaplain, Race Relations Liaison Officer, Deputy Race Relations Officer, Psychology, Governors Secretariat, Prisoner Representative and a representative from the Stockton International Family Centre.
From the representation it can be clearly seen that the Race Management Team was all internal and now are getting a view from outside.
The meetings are held bi-monthly and the main issues are about Racist Incidents reported and how they were handled, Statistics of BME inmates and involvement in different activities eg leisure, work gym etc.
