Bader Primary School Chinese Culture
A Chinese Cultural event was held at Bader Primary School. Due to the Chinese New Year being in February we decided it will be appropriate to teach the children of the Chinese New Year.
The session was facilitated by Shanim Akhter and the aim was for the children to learn about the Chinese culture.
The event was delivered in sessions over the day.
- The children were given an insight to Chinese culture and the New Year by using visual aids such as Chinese clothes, New Year decorations, and pictures of the foods eaten at New Year.
- The children were also actively involved and were taught how to make a Chinese Dragon (they were allowed to take the dragon’s home as a memento).
- Then the children were taught how to use the chopsticks all the children struggled at this to start with, however they all managed to pick up something by the end of the session.
There were 24 children and 2 teachers who attended the session
